Our workshop programme complements our other initiatives such as our online community, internships, networking opportunities and work placements enabling us to foster young Arab talent and launch their careers in the sector.”
“As 2016 is the Year of Reading our first workshop theme is centred on this subject. We are confident that the depth and breadth of our sessions will not only provide a variety of skills but will help individuals to connect with private sector employers.“
twofour54’s creative lab will kick off its first workshop on April 26, which focuses on honing skills in writing, reading and publishing books. The series will host industry professionals who bring extensive expertise to the table. The first session will be held under the title “From an inspired Idea to a Published Book” with guests Ali Al Shaali, Founder and Managing Director at Al Hudhud Publishing, and Abdullah Al Sharhan, Founder and Managing Director at Ajyaal Media.
Ali Al Shaali, Founder and Managing Director at Al Hudhud Publishing said: “I am honoured to be taking part in creative lab’s workshop which covers the art of reading and writing. One of our objectives at Al Hudhud Publishing is to encourage young talent to discover new writers who possess what it takes to climb the ladder of creativity. Through this collaboration with twofour54 and creative lab we will exchange knowledge and experiences with the writers of tomorrow, resulting in enriching the local scene with more literature created by local talent.”
Abdullah Al Sharhan, Founder and Managing Director at Ajyaal Media added: “This initiative comes by creative lab in a time at which our government is increasing nationwide efforts to encourage a culture of reading and writing. Those who wish to venture into the world of publishing will benefit from this workshop. I will discuss the technical basics in publishing, the secrets of successful book cover design, and creative touches that have turned good books into great books.”
The workshops will be delivered by media professionals with a multitude of experience and will be held at twofour54 creative lab’s purpose built space “#thelab”.
