TechRadar Expands into the Middle East
08 Nov 2017
International media group, Future plc, has announced that its multi-award winning technology website, Techradar.com, is expanding into the Arabian Gulf countries in partnership with Tbreak Media FZ LLC.
With a global monthly reach of 27 million, TechRadar is the market-leading authority on consumer technology, delivering breaking news, expert opinion, in-depth reviews and easy to follow how-to guides.
Tbreak Media, which is supported by twofour54, Abu Dhabi ‘s media and entertainment hub, has been publishing tech content in the Middle East for over a decade through tbreak.com and is very well connected with regional offices of all major technology brands. It shares a similar philosophy to TechRadar, which is to provide the best tech coverage to the regional audience. With this partnership, tbreak.com will be converted into TechRadar.com
This ground-breaking partnership sees Tbreak combining forces with the global TechRadar network to take full advantage of Future’s innovative proprietary technology platform.
This includes implementing Future’s ‘Hawk’ eCommerce technology, which delivered more than £100m in sales for global retail partners in 2016, and was recently shortlisted for the Digital Innovation of the Year Award at the PPA 2017 Awards.
Tbreak and TechRadar are both longstanding, reputable tech brands and combined they will be able to take their content to a wider audience. This collaboration is expected to result in significant audience growth in the region, as well as further strengthening the TechRadar brand and extending its global reach.
Abbas Jaffar Ali, Director, Tbreak Media FZ LLC says:
“We are very excited with this new partnership. TechRadar is a highly respected brand and with their expertise, we are looking to take tech journalism to a whole new level in the Middle East. We are also excited on implementing HAWK in the region and are already talking to local retailers”
TechRadar’s existing editorial team will work closely with the Tbreak team to provide their audience with a blend of the best, globally-relevant, industry coverage and product reviews, alongside local news and insight specifically tailored to the region.
Tbreak has been supported by twofour54 since it first began operations from the UAE capital. Due to the added financial and operational support from Abu Dhabi’s media and entertainment hub, it has allowed the business to continue on its growth path. The business is providing value to the wider media chain as it expands and creates more job opportunities.
Importantly, the business is 50% owned and operated by UAE nationals which is vital to the future sustainability of the media industry in the UAE.
H.E. Maryam Al Mheiri, CEO of twofour54, said: “One of twofour54’s objectives is to to encourage and support both established and emerging businesses in the creative, media and production industries. Tbreak was one of our first investments and we are very proud to see its growth journey continuing through this new partnership with Future plc.”
In addition, Tbreak is playing a role in the evolving gaming industry in Abu Dhabi. Gaming continues to rise in popularity across the region and twofour54 is keen to support this burgeoning sector while attracting more developers and operators to the region.
