twofour54 welcomed 41 youngsters to its campus today, to participate in a two-week Summer Camp full of activities exploring media and creative industries.
Following a successful pilot in 2016, twofour54 is running the creativity-focused Camp again this year, with twice the number of students. The Camp is targeted at Arabic and English speaking students aged 9-12 years old and includes demonstrations, talks and interactive sessions led by twofour54 partners, staff and community members.
CEO of twofour54, H.E Maryam AlMheiri, commented: “Last year was the first time we ran the Summer Camp and the feedback from the students and parents alike was incredible. With the focus on creativity and media topics, our Camp keeps kids physically and mentally stimulated.”
“We believe in the importance of educating the young generation about an industry that touches our lives every day and plays a critical role in society. With twofour54’s mandate to build a sustainable media industry in Abu Dhabi, we also hope that activities like Summer Camp will encourage more young people to consider a career in media when they grow up.”
The students will participate in various activities in media related subjects like filmmaking, journalism, animation, game designs and other exciting media related topics. Among those leading the different sessions are Bedaya, CNN, Cartoon Network, Korean Culture Centre, Lamsa, M&C Saatchi, and Ubisoft. The Camp runs until 27th July 2017.
