Abu Dhabi’s media companies connect on campus at twofour54

More than 100 people from Abu Dhabi’s media and entertainment industry attended a special event at twofour54 yesterday, aimed at building stronger connections among the twofour54 campus partner and freelancer community.

The event served to launch twofour54’s Year of Reading campus book drive, where book donations points will be set up in all seven of the twofour54 campus buildings. The campus partner donating the most books will join twofour54 in distributing them on Zayed Humanitarian Day.

Following an update on twofour54 services by Executive Director for Business Development and Property Management, Ahmad Al Mheiri, Samsung’s training manager, Aladdin Hijazi, gave a presentation on the growing market of virtual reality (VR), sharing with the audience that Goldman Sachs projects the VR industry could be worth $80 billion by 2025. The audience was then given a first-hand opportunity to try out the Samsung GEAR VR wearable technology, which gives a 360-degree immersive experience.

In recognition of this week’s World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development (21 May), the event was held at the Korean Cultural Centre, which recently took up residency on the twofour54 campus. The event included traditional Korean music and dance performances.
