Andrey Zvyagintsev’s Leviathan, which was screened at Abu Dhabi Film Festival 2014, has won the Best Foreign Language Film at last night’s Golden Globes, held at the Beverly Hilton, Los Angeles, USA. The film received the Black Pearl Award for Best Narrative and Best Actor Award at the eighth edition of ADFF.
Leviathan: A Courageous One Man Fight against Injustice. Serious yet exquisitely funny at times, the film has been cleverly written by its director Andrey Zvyagintsev and his colleague Oleg Negin. Leviathan was Zvyagintsev’s third feature fiction to be screened at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival. He previously entered the Narrative Feature Competition for his film ‘Elena’ at ADFF 2011.
