twofour54 creative lab launched its first comic book in partnership with Al Hudhud Publishing as part of their participation in the Sharjah International Book Fair, taking place from 5 – 15 November 2014

Under the title “Alaa the Bounty Hunter”, creative lab’s first comic book was written and illustrated by creative lab member, Shihab Al Deen Al Musharaf and was published by Al Hudhud Publishing. The book targets kids of ages 9 – 15 years old.

Khalid Khouri, head of commercial creative lab and tadreeb at twofour54 said: “Today marks yet another milestone for creative lab, our first comic book. We are proud of our talented member, Shihab Al Deen, who had an idea to create a comic book for children of the Arab world and today we see that vision come to life. We continue to support Arab talent with guidance, internships, and training opportunities. I encourage young people with passion for creative industries to join our community and explore their potential. The possibilities are endless.”

Alaa the Bounty Hunter illustrates a series of events in which a young kid, Alaa, goes on a journey to unlock mysteries that lead him to his dream.

The talented author and illustrator of Alaa the Bounty Hunter, Shihab Al Deen, said: “I would like to thank everyone who supported me take my idea and turn it into completed project. I was privileged to have the support of creative lab. It was a very rewarding experience and I look forward to Share my experience with creative lab community.”

Ali AlShaali, Managing Director of Al Hudhud Publishing said: “It was a pleasure to work with Shihab Al Deen and twofour54 creative lab in turning this idea to life. Alaa the Bounty Hunter is an exciting comic book that promises its audience a fun-filled story with eye-catching illustrations. We launch today the first edition and we look forward to introducing more.”

The comic book can be purchased during the Sharjah International Book Fair at Al Hudhud publishing stand located Hall 2 – Booth D1. The public can also meet and have their comic books signed by Shihab Al Deen.

twofour54’s creative lab is home to more than 10,000 talented members who are passionate about creative industries including film, music, TV, animation, gaming and publishing. Four films supported by creative lab took part at Abu Dhabi Film Festival this year and competed in the festival’s Emirati Film Competition and Documentary competition.
