Flexible scheme will help widen the entrepreneurial talent pool and Business Centre facility will drive business to partners in media community
twofour54, the commercial arm of the Media Zone Authority – Abu Dhabi, has introduced a new flexible entrepreneurship scheme and Business Centre facility to incubate and support entrepreneurs and SMEs.
The newly launched entrepreneurship scheme is the latest move by twofour54 to provide services and commit on a larger scale.
The scheme is initially targeted at Emirati entrepreneurs, allowing them to obtain a licence in the media zone without the need to rent office space. The company will be provided with two visas for staff and given assistance in developing and growing their business.
The Business Centre facility, meanwhile, will allow multiple users to utilise a single physical work station at different times. This model allows SMEs to set up at a low cost and will widen the entrepreneurial talent pool providing support to partners in the media community.
Noura Al Kaabi, Chief Executive Officer at twofour54, said: “At twofour54 we embrace entrepreneurial spirit and the volume of entrepreneurs setting up businesses in the UAE continues to grow year on year. We want to be more flexible in the services we offer to make sure local talent gets as much assistance as possible.
“This latest move will provide young start-ups with an opportunity that would have otherwise not been possible and will enhance twofour54’s ecosystem by offering new options to entrepreneurs. Reinforcing and empowering young people to fulfil their creative potential is vital to building and sustaining our media and entertainment industries.”
twofour54 also issues visas for expatriate freelancers working in the creative industries, which provide campus businesses with a pool of expertise for individual projects. Freelancers can apply for six or 12 month sole-proprietor business licences and connect with twofour54’s network of more than 300 partners.
When companies set up at twofour54, they are registered with twofour54’s briefing room, a free online service for matching and connecting clients with media agencies and specialists from hundreds of expert service providers. This service allows GCC wide companies to post their RFPs for media and entertainment content briefs digitally, making it easier to send requirements and procure world class services.
Giving instant access to more than 300 local, regional and international media and entertainment companies within twofour54, the Briefing Room operates in both Arabic and English.
As part of the media community at twofour54, entrepreneurs will be able to access creative lab’s online platform, the first of its kind in the Arab world to enable the region’s creative community to collaborate and find new creative opportunities. By uploading their portfolios and showcasing their talents, users can connect to producers, agencies and broadcasters.
In addition, all twofour54 partners can access visa, travel and government services through twofour54 tawasol in the Abu Dhabi campus making it a one-stop-shop for setting up business and licensing processes.
