twofour54 supported films ‘Daddy ABC’ and ‘Brain that Sings’ were highly commended for ‘Best Animation of 2013’ and ‘Best Production of 2013’
twofour54, the commercial arm of Media Zone Authority–Abu Dhabi received the ‘Studio of the Year’ award yesterday at Digital Studio’s tenth annual ceremony at the Westin Hotel Mina Seyahi in Dubai.
The Digital Studio Awards acknowledges individuals, organisations and companies that have contributed to the broadcast and production industry. The judges recognized twofour54 intaj, the film and television services arm of twofour54 for their breadth of studio work covering regional and international television and feature films.
The independent documentary ‘The Brain That Sings’, produced and directed by Emirati Filmmaker Amal Al-Agroobi, in association with twofour54 creative lab, was highly commended for the ‘Best Production 2013’ category. The documentary film, previously received ‘Best Film’ in the Emirates NBD People’s Choice Award category at the Dubai International Film Festival 2013 (DIFF); it follows the journey of two boys with autism in the UAE, and their progression through three months of music therapy. The film explores the cultural stigma associated with having a child with special needs in the Arab world.
‘Daddy ABC’ directed by Emirati Filmmaker Hamad M. Alawar, produced by UAE production house Blink Studios, supported by twofour54, was also highly commended for ‘Best Animation of 2013’ award. The award winning short animation is an exaggerated rendition of the comedic situations an Emirati husband faces when he is left alone with his new-born child at home in his care for the first time.

Last year, twofour54 intaj facilitated a number of local, regional and international productions from television commercials to Hollywood feature films including the upcoming thriller from Sony Pictures Entertainment, Deliver us from Evil. Al Mohra’s Syrian drama Hammam Shami, Clacket Production’s Wilada Men Al Khasira and Sanaood Baaed Qaleel, and Universal’s Fast and Furious 7 produced with the assistance of twofour54 intaj.
This year’s awards ceremony took place in partnership with CABSAT, the Middle East and Africa’s largest broadcast, digital media, and satellite expo. It was attended by leaders from the region’s broadcast, television, and production industries, as well as vendors, system integrators, consultants, and other high-profile guests.
twofour54 intaj has previously won Digital Studio’s ‘Post Production House’ award in 2011 and 2012, and was voted MENA ‘Studio of the Year’ in 2010.
